INTRO
TO PAINTING in AppleWorks
Remember
those "scribble" drawings you did as a little kid?
You get to do another today! Follow the directions below!
- Open
AppleWorks (remember, we don't MOVE it!)
To do this, go to the FINDER (little blue face in the lower left of the
DOCK).
Click on APPLICATIONS, find APPLEWORKS 6 and double click it.
Now you should see the AppleWorks icon.
Double-click to launch the program.
Choose a PAINTING file.
- Next,
use the FREEHAND tool to create a BLACK, 8 point line, with no fill color.
Your tool box should be set up to look like the one at right.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
- Now,
scribble
on the entire page, so that you create a minimum of 50 spaces. (60-70 if
you're shooting for an A). You don't need to count. Just have lots!
- Now,
fill each space with a DIFFERENT color, pattern, gradient or texture! Remember
that it's easy to use the DROP BUCKET to do this.
- You
may only use ONE of the pre-made gradients. Make the rest yourself.
- Please
don't use the goofy textures (cherries, ice cream cones, etc.)
Experiment!
Remember that it's easy to change a solid color....but not as easy to replace
textures and gradients.
EVALUATION
will be based upon completion, following the directions above, and effort.
If you are shooting for an A or B (above average or excellent), your work
must LOOK above average or excellent, and show exceptional experimentation
with patterns, textures and gradients.
