Painting Tools: Experiment #2

File name: YLNIAppleEx2

STEP ONE: Open a new AppleWorks PAINTING file.

STEP TWO: Create 6 squares that fill the space. Create the square with a 3 point black line. The inside must be white. (Don't worry if they are not exactly the same size.)

STEP THREE: Now, within each of the 6 squares, create at least two shapes of different colors.Use a variety of shapes including: square, circle, ovals, shapes created using the Polygon tool, the Bezier tool and the Freehand Tool. Fill the spaces with color, gradients, patterns, wallpaper and interesting shapes.

STEP FOUR: Choose one of the six squares to begin. Choose some of the paint modes, options or transformations to experiment with. Be sure that in one of the six squares you manage to experiment with ALL of the paint modes, options and transformations listed below. You may also choose to use a second page if necessary.

STEP FIVE: As you are working, you must use the TEXT tool to label which modes, options, etc., that you have used. Use different fonts,

Use all of the following:
PAINT MODE: transparent pattern
PAINT MODE: tint
BRUSH SHAPE: Use all shapes & sizes
BRUSH SHAPE: Choose brush shape in a large size, and use EACH of the effects at least once.

SPRAY CAN: Use it at least six times, several spray sizes and flow rates...be sure to use it with solid colors and gradients, too. Find ways to make different effects.

TRANSFORM MENU: Try using all the items at the bottom of the transform menu, such as tint, lighten, darken, etc.

Remember that this is about quality, not quick! It is impossible to do the job thoroughly in less than one period. It may take more! It may take more than one page to do the job.Consider saving more than one file, after you have created the squares and the colored shapes within the squares.

Be sure your page is not a mess...it should not be muddy or impossible to "see" what tools you have used. If it becomes so, start again!

Don't forget the Transform Menu, also!

THIS REPRESENTS ONE SQUARE!
