How To Set Up To Print
1. Create a New file in Photoshop (FILE: NEW). This will be the background paper for your print.
Size: 24"x18"
Mode: RGB
Background: Transparent
Resolution: Set the resolution to the HIGHEST resolution of the artwork you
will be printing. (probably 300, if in CG1 and 500 for CG2)
3. Drag guidelines on all four sides at 1" inch.
4. Next, open the file that you want to print. Drag it onto the new Photoshop file. (Note: it must be a PICT or JPG file. Resave it if necessary!).
5. Rotate and scale your file as necessary, so that it fits and fills the space. (Hint: Sometimes you image will be laying on it's side, and that's OK! (see example right). It will print fine.
6. When the image is on the paper, you may want to add your name at the top. Be sure it stays inside the 1" border or it will be cut off!
7. Turn off the layer with your artwork. Next, ADD a new layer and repeat the process with a second work of art. You may put up to 5 finished works in one file.
8. Save your files in
Photoshop format, as: "YLNIprint1".
Ask your teacher when to send it to a dropbox.
ALSO: We ONLY print artwork.
No photos, no pictures from phones, nada, zip, zero, none!
Please see Moto Photo for those types of prints.
SETTING THE RESOLUTION:
The resolution on your background paper should be the same as the art you are trying to print.
To find out what the resolution is, open the art work and go to IMAGE: IMAGE SIZE. Check the resolution!
