Directions: In order to do this assignment you MUST be finished with Anytown. If you start before it is complete, you will be starting over!

1. Open your finished ANYTOWN file. Resave it immediately by going to FILE: SAVE AS: “YLNI Goodnight”.
2. Make the following changes to your work. Check off each item as you accomplish the task.
__Delete the sun.
__Delete the smoke from the chimney
__Delete the text, “Anytown, USA”
__Delete the cloud behind the text
__Delete the sidewalk
__Delete two rows of windows (horizontal) from the tall building and rearrange the remaining windows in a random and interesting way.
3. Change some of your objects to color, gradient or textures. Experiment!
4. Open the Clippings library (FILE: Show Clippings.) Find something in the library that would be found in the sky. (Could be snowflakes, airplances, etc.) Duplicate it several times. Flip, rotate and scale your duplicates. You can use the search tool under the left tab if necessary!
5. Select one or two of your clip art items with the arrow selection tool. Go to the ARRANGE Menu and UNGROUP. Deselect (click in the white spqace) and then carefully reselect pieces to recolor! Experiment!

6. Buildings: Fill each building with a different TEXTURE/Wallplaper. Check your handout to find out where the textures/Wallpapers are!
7.Go to the library. Find several interesting animals/pets. Scale to a small size and paste a different graphic into each of the four windows in the left building.

8. In the tall building: Place a different gradient that you created in each window above. To make your own gradient, go to the OPTIONS menu and look for gradients. Experiment! Next place some interesting “residents” in 6 of the windows.
9. ABOVE the buildings, set the text: “Goodnight, Anytown” in a script-style font (one that looks like it is handwritten). The word should be 36 point, with capital letter that are 72 points. (Hint: Type the words first, then change the cap’s.) Go to the Text Menu to change the text color. Use different colors for each letter in the word “goodnight”.
10.Lastly: Fill the background (behind everything) with a gradient. Select your border, or use the rectangle tool and drag a box over the entire page. (Don’t panic if it covers your picture! It’s supposed to! Now go to the gradient box and select a gradient that looks like a dark sky. Go to the arrange menu and move it back.
11. Use the irregular polygon tool to make trees on the side of one of your buildings. Color them appropriately.
12. Go to FILE: SAVE to update your changes.
