1.
Open AppleWorks. Select a drawing file.
2.Look at the example drawing (file: anytown). Use the tools available in the
drawing toolbox (right) to duplicate it EXACTLY the way you see it. Pay careful
attention to details, such as line weight and differences in colors, gradients
and patterns.
3. Begin by using the rectangle tool to drag a border around the entire page.
To do this, you must create a rectangle without a fill. Go to the Pattern Palette
button and select the transparent tool/button in the pattern palette button
(see example right). Zoom down to 66% (at the bottom of the page), and drag
your border diagonally across the entire page.
4. Now, start duplicating the Anytown drawing.
Pay close attention to line size, patterns, fills and gradients.
5. The text “Anytown, USA” must be in Times font, size 48pt.
6. Notice that some items are overlapping (move back/forward).
Look carefully at shapes: some have line borders, others do not.
8. Be sure you are zoomed out so that you can view the entire page!
When your drawing is complete:
1. Go to the FILE menu and drag down to SAVE AS.
2. Navigate to your folder. .
3. Name your file using your last name and first initial Anytown...
example: “SmithJG Anytown” (Use your own last name)
4. Save your file. Back up your work on a jumpdrive or CD.
