REQUIREMENTS
FOR THE IMPRESSIONIST PROJECT:
1. Must have (in class), use and TURN IN the photo at the end of the project. If you lose your photo half way through the project...START OVER!
2. Project must be set up correctly according to directions. This includes proper size, dpi, format, file type, etc.
3. This project is a drawing: Do not scan, trace or mechanically duplicate your photograph. Look and draw! It's not as hard as it seems.
4. Painting must be complete. Work with your teacher to determine when that stage has been reached. (Hint: all areas should have been worked thoroughly with layers of color and texture.)
5. Painting must show a wide variety of textures, used in a manner that is suggestive of the forms being painted: i.e., a tree should "look" like a tree and a rock should "look" like a rock.
6. Painting should show a wide variety of brush styles, shapes, opacities, etc.
7. Painting must NOT have any: filters, effects, special effects, gradients, or other photograph devices. The painting must be constructed entirely of brushstrokes (exception: solid colors in the background areas.)
8. Solid background colors should be 98% covered by brushtrokes, including sky areas.
9. Painting should show an understanding of impressionistic styles (refer to characteristics of Impressionism on the project page). Be particularly concerned with the effects of light!
10. Painting must be completed according to all directions on the project page (PHOTOSHOP: The Impressionist Project).
11. Painting must be properly named, "YLNIimpress".
PLEASE DO NOT:
1. Use photos on the internet.
2. Scan or in any other way mechanically duplicate your photograph.
3. Lose your photo!
